The Skills for Business Awards is an annual event celebrating the outstanding contribution that skills and learning make to businesses across Greater Manchester.
The awards recognise and celebrate the following groups:
- Greater Manchester businesses across all sectors who invest in the training and development of their staff
- Schools that support young people into the world of work / Apprenticeships
- Learning providers that engage with, understand and meet the needs of businesses in the region
- Outstanding apprentices, advanced / higher apprentices and other learners who have honed their skills and excelled as a result of the training and development they have received
The awards are hosted by a partnership of Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce and Greater Manchester Learning Provider Network.

Some of the other people in the category shortlisted were: Alliance Learning, Bury College, Rochdale Training, Salford City College, Trafford College and Utility and Construction Training.
