The Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Construction
Site Management -Building and Civil Engineering qualification has been developed for
achievement in a real workplace environment which means you need to be employed to undertake this qualification.

This qualification is aimed at people who are working in a management role in the construction industry, they will be expected to supply documentation including minutes of meeting they have attended and a variety of site documentation they use within their role.
This qualification enables you, the learner, to demonstrate and recognise your skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate your competence in a real workplace environment so you can work as a Construction Site manager within the construction industry.
You will be assessed against a set of performance and knowledge statements which have been derived from National Occupational Standards for your occupational area. You will be assessed by an occupationally competent and qualified assessor whose job is to work with you and help you complete your qualification.

Assessment Process 

OSAT (On Site Assessment & Training)

Your assessor will visit you a minimum of 4 times (in general) to collect evidence relating to the qualification you’re doing. Using methods such as Observation (watching) and Questioning/Discussion they will collect what’s needed to prove your competence at your trade. A third party reference (Witness Testimony) can be used as another source of evidence stating the work you do on site and that you are capable of working safely. Videos and recorded discussions are sometimes used as they are a good way of collecting substantial evidence in both practical ability and level of understanding Your assessor will work with you to plan the assessments and methods used taking into account any of your individual needs.

Timescales

The qualification can take up to 9 months, with a minimum of 4 assessor visits. As this is a level 6 qualification the learner is expected to set time aside for home study, knowledge sessions and collecting relevant evidence.

There are no formal entry requirements to take this qualification, however, we would expect a detailed, up to date CV, covering site management duties before enrolment on to this qualification.

On completion of this qualification you will have obtained the skills, knowledge and understanding and demonstrated competence to progress on to a higher level qualification in the same or similar occupational area

Industry will accept the qualification on its own as entry to a job role.
